The International Flag of Planet Earth
The International Flag of Planet Earth
This flag means a lot to me personally, and I have the flag patch on my bags, jackets, bumper stickers, the works - I even flew a full sized flag from my residence when I lived in central Brisbane. It a powerful symbol that I want to see everywhere, a symbol that also features throughout the 'The Montague Odyssey' book trilogy.
In the greater cosmos, Earth is a rare gem, in an otherwise vast and apparently lifeless solar system, and it is something to be cherished and revered, precious beyond all measure and counting.
Developed by Swiss student Oskar Pernefeldt in 2015, it represents Earth.
I like to imagine it goes even further, expanding to symbolise collaboration, hope, and optimism for the future, the potential for thriving of all of Earth's species, perhaps even heralding the advent of the symbiosene era, where the human family finally sees that 'all life interconnected and interdependent' on our blue planet.
The flag may also points to a future of greater unity, where Earth's borders dissolve and we come together as one global human family, sharing all the land of Earth and our Moon, as the "Common Heritage of all People". Unity among the human family move us closer to becoming a truly civilised species, more humane, showing respect and concern for each other and all forms of life - from ant, to tree, to human, each other, and later even digital-life.
If you share this dream, then fly the flag proud - it's on Redbubble.com, Etsy, eBay and more, in all forms of merchandise.
The Montague Odyssey shop has a a limited edition iron-on patch in the store, available now, ready to wear on your clothes, attach to bags and more.
Let's show our pride for the biosphere that is our home.
